Google Reader が自動翻訳機能をサポートした。
設定方法
翻訳したいフィードを Google Reader で開いて、右上の「Feed Settings...」から「Translate into my language」にチェックを入れる。
右上の「Feed Settings...」メニューがない場合は、フィードのタイトル下にあるブログ・タイトルをクリックしませう。
日本語の翻訳精度は?
Google Reader の翻訳機能は、Google の翻訳 API を使っているものと思われる。この「Google 翻訳 API」、日本語の変換精度が悪いことで有名。他社の翻訳機能と随分水をあけられている。
実際に英語のエントリーを翻訳してみた。

英語への翻訳
ここで一つ視点を変えてみる。ぼくは、ほとんどの日本語と平易な英語なら読めるので、英語に翻訳するやうにしてみてはどうでせう。

あとがき
Google Reader の翻訳機能は、日本語への変換は使い物にならない。でも、英語への変換ならまだマシ。英語・日本語以外のブログと言われても具体的には思い付かないけれど、例えば写真・ビデオ投稿系のブログなんかは面白いんじゃないかと思う。
